The setting of Rock and a Hard Place was inspired by my visits to Lassen Volcanic National Park.
Coming up with names for areas in my fictional August Volcanic National Park--like Goblin Valley, Devil’s Ridge, Incubus Peak, Demon River, Mount Hellion, and Diablo Creek--was a blast!
I'm grateful to live so close to this beautiful real-life place, especially when it's sweltering in the valley and we need to escape to the mountains for some cool, refreshing air.
